China Med 2008 concluded with satisfactory results

The 20^th International Medical Instruments and Equipment Exhibition (China Med 2008) jointly organized by Medical Department of General Logistics Department of Chinese PLA, China World Trade Center Co., Ltd., Hui Tong Xingye International Exhibition (Beijing) Co. Ltd and Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd. lowered its curtain in a great success today at China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.

China Med 2008 achieved a big success. Boasting an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters, this trade fair attracted more than 600 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions. Presented in the event were famous international brand names including Siemens, Philips, Toshiba, Shimadzu, Hitachi, Olympus, Ziehm Imaging (Germany), Agfa, Berchtold (Germany), Belimed, Rudolf, etc, as well as a brilliant lineup of national pavilions organized by German, Japan, Korea and Russia, fully showcasing the latest trends of development from an international perspective by bringing along the most advanced products, as well as the latest technologies and concepts. 20,000 trade visitors from 81 countries and regions visited the 3-day event, and it is worthwhile to mention that the organizing committee had organized a buyer group consisting of more than 1,000 military hospital representatives to visit the exhibition and carried out on-site bid invitation, receiving a consensus of praise from exhibitors. The show also attracted visiting groups composed of deans, experts as well as purchase department personnel from local medical and health institutions and enterprises. Both old and new exhibitors, benefiting from the high quality of buyers and considerable transaction amount, all claimed very satisfactory results at this event of China Med. On-site survey showed that most exhibitors and visitors were very satisfied with this event and willing to participate again.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, CHINA MED 2008 featured a rich variety of ceremonial activities highlighted by a series of academic seminars which won popular support of the PLA institutions, exhibitors and visitors. Throughout the 3-day event, more than 50 academic and technical seminars focused on subjects such as new medical equipment technology, rehabilitation, orthopedics, radiology, stomatology, medical equipment supervision and medical quality management, etc were staged by the organizers. Dozens of industry experts including academician Yu Mengsun with Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor and Orthopedics Department head Wang Yan and Radiology Department Professor Yang Li from the PLA 301 Hospital, Professor Zhou Xiaohong from the Medical Center of Illinois University, US, and director Sun Feng from Peking University School of Stomatology were presented at the conferences to share with experts and academicians from all over the world the latest technological information of the industry on such subjects as “Biomedical Engineering and New Technologies for Medical Equipment”, “Cardiac Multi-slice CT Imaging, What Should We Prepare”, ”Analysis and Evaluation of the Key Parameters for MRI Scanners, how to buy a MRI that best suits practical needs”, and “Zirconium Dioxide All-Ceramic Restoration Technology”. All the seminars won wide applauses from the audience who fully packed the meeting rooms.

The photo exhibition specially arranged in celebration of China Med’s 20th anniversary attracted the attention of numerous on-site visitors. Pictures and data on latest products of enterprises that had brought new products and technologies to China Med for a number of times over the 20 years, together with an introduction to China Med’s history of development over the 20 years were hanging on the outer wall (about 30 meters long) of Hall 8, attracting an endless stream of visitors. The photo exhibition, according to most visitors, was very meaningful and had rendered them a deeper understanding of China Med’s history as well as its strength.

Furthermore, the organizers had innovatively provided military hospitals with a New Product Manual that covers more than 120 products from 55 manufacturers, including a number of domestic debuts from internationally-renowned enterprises. The military hospital representatives indicated that the New Product Manual had offered them a preview to products, thus a clearer guide for their visits and saved their time.

The successful staging of the event marks a satisfactory ending of China Med’s 20 years of glory, which however will surely continue with the support of people from all walks of life.

The next China Med will be held in March 19-21 2009 ,in China International Exhibition Centre (New venue). We expect exhibitors and visitors to gather once again in celebration of the grand event of the industry.
